This blog is designed to explore the wide gap between those who have access to technology and use it effectively and those who do not. The technology gap exists between those who can create and innovate to produce new technologies and those who cannot. It also exists between those who can access, adapt, master and use existing technologies and those who cannot. If we don't begin to embrace technology we risk the chance of becoming an extinct population of society in the workplace.

TAB Training & Consulting, LLC - Celebrates Black
History Month
TABTC, LLC celebrates Black History Month by acknowledging African
American Women that ave used technology as a tool for building and developing their human
capital toward reaching the very positions they currently hold and to achieve
future professional goals.
“The Origin”
Black History Month is an annual celebration of achievements
by black Americans and a time for recognizing the central role of African
Americans in U.S. history. The event grew out of “Negro History Week,” the
brainchild of noted historian Carter G. Woodson and other prominent African
Americans. Since 1976, every U.S. president has officially designated the month
of February as Black History Month. Other countries around the world, including
Canada and the United Kingdom, also devote a month to celebrating black
history.
“The Theme”
Every year there is a theme identified with Black History
Month and this year’s theme is “Black Women in American Culture and History.” We are going to feature Black Women that have
used technology (science, math and engineering) as a means for developing and
building their human capital toward acquiring the prestigious positions that they
currently hold.

Gas prices are high…unemployment is high...companies only want to hire individuals that are working (huh?)…the outlook appears to be very grim…but this is the chance for individuals to use their ingenuity, creativity and “technology literacy” to overcome such obstacles!
Listen in as I share my personal story on how I plan to overcome these obstacles and succeed even though many people have said I will not succeed in such an economic climate. This personal story has been 20 years in the making and I strongly feel the time is right! I will also share some “out-of-the-box” ways to incorporate technology as a tool for “solopreneurs”, like myself, to survive on a shoestring budget. This broadcast will also cover ways to productively, effectively and efficiently use Microsoft Office Suite applications at home! So, plan this upcoming Sunday (6/12/11) to include spending 30-minutes listening and participating during our TABRadio broadcast. I promise you that you will walk away with new ideas and information to consider implementing into your business and/or personal lives.

5 Reasons Why I Use Microsoft OneNote Everyday
- I use it to create a daily log of business activities that includes the following:
- screen clippings
- audio notes for me to remember to "do something"
- descriptive tags (that are searchable across all notebooks)
- items that I can automatically add to my Outlook task list
- I use it to organize my various activities into "Notebooks"; much like when I used binder backin high school
- I share notebooks with my business associates via the web
- I share class training notes with my students
- Microsoft OneNote works well when I need to create projetcs using other applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
