This blog is designed to explore the wide gap between those who have access to technology and use it effectively and those who do not. The technology gap exists between those who can create and innovate to produce new technologies and those who cannot. It also exists between those who can access, adapt, master and use existing technologies and those who cannot. If we don't begin to embrace technology we risk the chance of becoming an extinct population of society in the workplace.

Learn more than just how to use a Microsoft Office Application...
...learn what Microsoft Office Suite application(s) you will
need to complete a task or project.
For instance, have you ever been faced with the task of
sending one letter, which will need to be customized), to multiple recipients.
I am sure you have; and if you haven't, then you will almost certainly be faced
with this dilemma in the future. So what
do you do?
![]() |
This is a Mass-Mailing... |
These questions are as follows:
(a) Where is the letter (located) that I need to customize
for each mailing recipient? Do I have to create a new letter? What is the
information that needs to be customized for each recipient?
(b) Where is the listing of recipients (located) that will
be used for this particular project? If there is no list, what are my options -
does that mean I have to create the recipient list?
(c) Will I have to filter the list of recipients based on
some type of criteria to match only those recipients located in Florida? If so,
how will I filter out only what I need?
Once you have the answers to the questions listed above (as
there may be more that will need to be considered in order to complete this
task) you will be able to decide on what applications to use. One of the
applications to consider is Microsoft Word which has a feature called
Mail-Merge. Can you guess what the other application(s) is that may be used to
complete this task?
To learn how such a task can be completed, check out our
July "Webinar Wednesday" session scheduled for July 25, 2012. Sign up
for the event by visiting our website (www.tabtraining.com)
starting July 1st.

Professor TAB - Returns on Sunday, February 19th!!!

We left off discussing how he completed the entrepreneurship class that set him on the path that he still follows to this day. He goal is to one day build something that he can pass on to his daughter when she is ready to take over the business. Graduation from this class provided him with the first "non-labor" intensive job in his short working career; as he realized he could use his brain instead of his brawn. Professor TAB would later be called to present at a youth conference and it was then that he knew he had found his calling - combining computers (& technology) with teaching (& presenting).
Stay tuned for the return of Professor TAB, on Sunday - February 19th, as he shares more about his trials and tribulations toward achieving his dream of owning the leading technology training and consulting grassroots business whose mission is to "bridge the technology literacy gap."

TAB Training & Consulting, LLC - Celebrates Black
History Month
TABTC, LLC celebrates Black History Month by acknowledging African
American Women that ave used technology as a tool for building and developing their human
capital toward reaching the very positions they currently hold and to achieve
future professional goals.
“The Origin”
Black History Month is an annual celebration of achievements
by black Americans and a time for recognizing the central role of African
Americans in U.S. history. The event grew out of “Negro History Week,” the
brainchild of noted historian Carter G. Woodson and other prominent African
Americans. Since 1976, every U.S. president has officially designated the month
of February as Black History Month. Other countries around the world, including
Canada and the United Kingdom, also devote a month to celebrating black
history.
“The Theme”
Every year there is a theme identified with Black History
Month and this year’s theme is “Black Women in American Culture and History.” We are going to feature Black Women that have
used technology (science, math and engineering) as a means for developing and
building their human capital toward acquiring the prestigious positions that they
currently hold.
“We acknowledge – Ursula Burns”
Ursula Burns, now Chairman & CEO of Xerox, holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Polytechnic
Institute of New York and a Master's in Engineering from Columbia University. She is the first African-American woman
CEO to head a Fortune 500 company. Mrs. Burns got her start at Xerox as a summer
Intern.
Visit us next Sunday to learn who we acknowledge next...
